Games based on Lützen have been a favourite in this bicentennial of 1813. Several have already been noted on this blog (see tab 1813 : 2013 above). Today we catch up on three that were staged by a wargaming club, a group and an individual who are focussing on such games.
The Liphook Historical Wargames Group
This group, based in Liphook some 20 miles South of Guildford, England, staged a magnificent looking game based on Lützen back in April this year.

Since 2006 they have been staging bicentennial games as close to the 200th anniversary as possible. Links to their fabulous looking games of Talavera, Fuentes de Oñoro, Salamanca, Borodino and Berezina can all be found under the relevant year tabs above (1792–1811 : 1992–2011 and 1812 : 2012).
A brief report and photos of their beaut looking game of Vitoria can be found here.
They are currently planning "the big one", Leipzig, for Sunday 8th September 2013. We'll let post a link to the results of that game in due course!
The Avon Napoleonic Fellowship
Since it formed in 2010, this group of 'three amigos', often with participation from a friend or two from the Napoleonic Wargaming Society, has been focussing on games from the bicentennial years. They go for big games, using 1/72nd figures at 1:50 scale. Their recent game based on Lützen, played over two 'sessions', was no exception.

Phil from York, UK
Solo wargamer Phil from 'old' York has also made bicentennial games a focus of his wargaming activities.
Photos and a brief report of his fabulous looking game of Lützen can be found here. He is two turns into the game and hopes to complete it soon. We'll keep you posted.
