In preparation for the great battle, Luca's Kutusov has visited one of the icons that will be shown to the waiting Russian army. See more photos of this and his beautiful terrain, surely the best Borodino battlefield going around, on his marvellous blog.
I have found reports of other great Borodino games from around the world.
• Pushing Tin reports on his magnificent game using 6 mm figures. Their game lasted for 20 hours of game time and his battle report is spread over two posts; the first covering the 06:00–11:00 and the second post covering 12:00–17:00. In this game the French-Allied army achieved more than in the real thing, rolling up the Russian southern flank and destroying the centre.
• Meanwhile, Club le Shakko played a scaled-down version of the battle in 1/72nd scale which resulted in a similar result to history.
