The bicentennial of the Battle of Borodino was marked in fine style by at least four groups of antipodean wargamers, including three games on the bicentennial weekend itself (7–9 September).

A large number of Kiwi wargamers gathered in Christchurch NZ for a game featuring over 5 000 figures. This fabulous game has been captured in still photos by Rodger "Rebel Barracks", Craig's Wargaming Blog and on video by Chris, aka 'Napoleon'.

Almost simultaneously the across the Tasman, the lads at the Hall of Heroes in Campbelltown NSW staged their own Borodino MegaGame at 1:20 scale and also featuring well over 5 000 figures.

Moving across the Nullarbor, the Avon Napoleonic Fellowship held its long planned bicentennial Borodino bash, once again featuring over 5 000 figures on the table. A preliminary photographic record is presented on their blog.

The following week (15–16 September) the Goulburn Valiant Stormer's played a game of the attack on the Great Redoubt at Borodino, using General de brigade rules. The OBs are posted on the Australian Napoleonic Kriegspielers blog, and hopefully some photos of the game will soon follow.

Meanwhile, at the Borodino battlefield itself, the re-enactors were out in force doing their version of 'living history'. Thanks to Ben "Rosbif" who posted these links to still photos and videos.
